Danny Donaway has coached volleyball for over 12 years. His coaching career started at Holy Family in New Albany, IN where he coached 8th grade volleyball. During his three years of coaching at Holy Family, he led his team to two runner up finishes in the Catholic School league.
After coaching at Holy Family, Danny moved to coach the freshman volleyball team at Jeffersonville High School for one year. He, then, had the opportunity to move to River Valley Middle School where he began coaching the 8th grade team and has been there for the past eight years. During his time at River Valley, Danny has won two Clark/Floyd county championships and been runner up once.
Danny started his club coaching career at Prodigy where he coached the 14 year old team for two years and then moved to the 12 year old team for the following six years.
Last season, Danny started coaching at MAVA for the first time after being invited to coach with Tim Cox, who was returning to MAVA after his own coaching stint at Prodigy. Together, they took over the 16 blue team and he is excited to get the 2022 – 2023 season started and to work with the caliber of players MAVA attracts.
