Elisa Burkman

Elisa Burkman began playing volleyball in 4th grade at Our Lady of Lourdes. She joined the MAVA family at age 10 and also played for Sacred Heart Academy. At Spalding University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree, she played 4 years as an outside hitter and defensive specialist. Elisa went on to earn a Masters in Education concentrated in Counseling Psychology from the University of Louisville in 2019. Thereafter, she coached men’s volleyball at Trinity High School for 4 years and men’s intermittent volleyball U of L. This season will mark her second coaching at MAVA. Elisa is the proud mother of a 6 month old boy and recently became the Assistant Director of LeafSpring School.
