Ed Stottmann has been playing volleyball for over 35 years and has been coaching for 20 years.
He joined the MAVA staff in 2006 coaching mainly 14s and 15s and has also served as head coach of girls volleyball at Crosby MS (2004 and 2005) and freshmen coach at Manual HS (2006 thru 2010). Prior to joining MAVA, Ed was an assistant coach at Iroquois Hills VBC (2004) and Louisville Rage VBC (2005).
Ed refereed HS volleyball from 1991 thru 2003 and worked as a NCAA D1 Line Judge from 2002-2024.
He played on a Pioneer USA Volleyball Region men’s team (Louisville Masters) until 2022.
Ed is a Louisville native and Trinity HS graduate. He holds a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Speed Scientific School at the University of Louisville and is a retiree of Louisville Gas & Electric Co.
Ed has been married for 37 years to Denise and they have three children (Rachel, Sam, and Kate). Both girls played volleyball at MAVA and at Manual HS.
