bio
Frank has been a coach with us at MAVA for 17 years and has been one of our non-travel 12’s coaches since 2006! Due to his love of working with younger athletes and building their fundamentals and love of the game from the ground up, he has always coached at our 12’s age group. Starting in 2006, Frank coached MAVA 12-Great White for six years. Following that stint, he was moved up the 12-Hammerhead team and has been the Head Coach of MAVA 12-Hammerhead ever since. During his tenure with us, Frank has led his teams to a Pioneer Region Championship and numerous first place gold finishes throughout the area.
Frank also coaches for 7 years at the CSAA level. He coached at Saint Martha for 6 years (2003-2008) and led them to win the 8th Grade City Championship in 2007. Frank also coached at Holy Trinity in 2011.
He is married to Mary Horecny, who was a teacher and Learning Consultant for 20 years at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School. Together, they have two daughters, Sara and McKenzie, who both played varsity volleyball at Sacred Heart Academy and are MAVA Alumni. Frank and his family are definitely volleyball people and he is looking forward to returning for the 2023 season with us!
