Group Training Sessions and Skill Programs
Sunday Skills Clinics focus on developing all skills in a competitive and fun environment. Master trainers are present to lead each session. As we near tryouts, the coaching staff at these clinics will be primarily made up of age group team coaches so players can meet them prior to tryouts.
These small group clinics are skill specific per session and open to all ages. These allow for the fine tuning of skills that players want and need post school season before club tryouts and season starts. These are primarily coached by Dan Palmer.
These sessions are designed to prepare players for tryouts by emphasizing MAVA principles, giving tryout advice, and running drills we will have at tryouts. Age group coaches are present and it's a good way to get to know other players and the club.

Dan Palmer
Dan Palmer, the most decorated coach on our staff and our Club Director, has been coaching volleyball for over 30 years. In that time, he has won the AAU National Championship 8 times in the Open Division, been Runner-Up 3 times, and been a Silver/Bronze medalist over 10 times. Dan has also won the USAV Jr. Olympic National Open Division Championship 3 times, and taken Top 3 another four times.
Dan has placed over 300 student-athletes at the NCAA Division One level on scholarship, and even more at other collegiate levels! He has acquired more collegiate connections nationwide than any other coach in the state of Kentucky and is someone that produces players each year that college coaches personally seek out to have in their programs.
In his coaching tenure, Dan has also coached at the high school and collegiate levels. In Dan’s 8 years at Assumption High School, he was a major part of the first 2 National Championship teams and 6 State Championship teams to come through the program. In his two years at Holy Cross High School, he led the volleyball team to their first appearance in the State Tournament Semifinals. Then as the Bellarmine University Head Coach, he led the team to many unprecedented record breaking performances.
With Dan’s highly successful volleyball coaching history, large number of athletes placed in college, extensive coaching connections nationwide, and the caliber of players that he produces annually from his team and skills training, he is one of the most sought after coaches in the country for all things volleyball and we couldn’t be happier to have him on staff.
Additionally, Dan coached and/or trained all of MAVA's Master Trainers. If you want to be trained by the best, sign up for one of our clinics or email Dan to schedule with him or one of the club’s Master Trainers.
