Abbey Breit has been playing volleyball for more than 20 years and coaching for over 10 years.

Abbey joined the MAVA coaching staff in 2012 and has been the JV volleyball coach at Sacred Heart Academy since 2017! She previously served as the head JV (2010-2011) and Varsity (2012-2014) girls volleyball coach at Presentation Academy and was named KVCA Region 7 Coach of the Year in 2014.

Abbey played for MAVA from its inception and until she graduated. She played Division-I volleyball for Jacksonville State University, where she still holds multiple program records including total kills and kills per game. Abbey made quite the impact there as she additionally was a first-team Academic All-American, 3-time Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Player of the year, 2-time OVC Female Athlete of the Year, 4-time All-OVC 1st team selection. Her legacy at Jacksonville State University grew when she was inducted into the school’s athletic Hall of Fame in 2019.

A Louisville native and Presentation Academy alum, Abbey graduated from Jacksonville State University before obtaining her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky. She is a clinical pharmacist and pharmacy residency program director at Baptist Health Floyd. She enjoys staying active via fitness kickboxing, is very creative, and has been in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend for over 10 years.
