Anna Palmer, daughter to Dan Palmer, is a graduate of Assumption High School and the University of Memphis where she played division one volleyball until she medically retired and graduated. She was on two of the State Championship teams at AHS, took 3rd in AAU’s her 17’s season, and was Coach Burdette’s first recruit to Memphis as a transfer from Seattle University where she was named to the WAC All-Freshmen Team. Anna was named one of AVCA’s 30 Under 30 Coaches of the Year in 2023 after taking over the volleyball program at Nelson County High School in Bardstown, KY in 2023. That team went on to have a winning season, win 2A State Section 3, the 2A State Championship, District, and made it all the way to semifinals of their region in her first season as head coach. Her first season as a high school coach, she spent assisting her sister and brother-in-law, Marisa and Brett Versen, at Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville, KY.

Anna was the head coach of 18-Select her first year at MAVA where they competed in the 18 Open level. She enjoyed preparing her players for college and their futures after volleyball, but decided to make the change to 16’s so she could better help our athletes learn the recruiting process from the start. Since her move to 16-Select, the team has competed in 16 Open and gotten to work closely with her to start their individual recruiting processes with the goal to give them the tools to get recruited and to prepare them to play volleyball at the next level.

Since Anna started at MAVA, she has become the Social Media Coordinator and the Recruiting Coordinator through her new business Athletic Advice By Anna.
