Bud Busch

Bud Busch has been coaching at MAVA since its inaugural 2002-2003 season and has been for over 20 years total. During that time, his teams have enjoyed extensive tournament championships along with many successful trips to the AAU Championships in Orlando. Additionally, Bud was a coach at St. Barnabas School for many years and a part of the coaching staff at Sacred Heart Academy for 2 years. Bud has tremendous pride in the MAVA program and the accomplishments of its athletes. Working to grow the success of the club through enhancing the experience of its athletes is of upmost importance to Bud. A stringent training of fundamentals and knowledge of the college recruiting process are Bud’s signature traits. “Whole athlete development” was never more evident than in his recent 2021-2022 season, where all 9 seniors on Bud’s 18 Elite team were signed and committed to play college volleyball. That was one of Bud’s proudest coaching achievements: ensuring that his players got to continue their love of the game through college. Bud is looking forward to returning to MAVA as the 12-Select Head Coach with his daughter, Mallory, who played at MAVA and Sacred Heart and has a future MAVA volleyball player of her own.
